My name is Maya Ogbodo. I am a first year MPH student in the Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences department at the Rollins School of Public Health. I graduated with a BA in public health at Concordia University – Saint Paul in the spring of 2022. Following graduation, I served for two years with Public Health AmeriCorps as a project coordinator at the Minnesota Department of Health and Hennepin County Public Health where I worked on special projects pertaining to data collection and organization and program development. In addition to my degree, I am also working towards a certificate in the social determinants of health. I am interested in studying how the social determinants of health impact marginalized communities with a focus on achieving health equity through community-guided intervention. In my spare time l enjoy biking, listening to music, and taking various art classes.
